As a service centre, TSPDL provides both processing and distribution services. The company's business is categorised as Tolling business, based on whether only processing services are provided on materials supplied and owned by customers or as Distribution business, where the ownership of the material lies with TSPDL and it's the finished output that reaches the final consumer. Presently our competencies lie in HR and CR Sheets and coils, Stainless Steel and Rebar Processing.
 Tolling:
In Tolling, TSPDL cares to process the materials provided by our customers. In this business model TSPDL doesn't take the ownership of the material but only the processing initiative, inventory and dispatch. The core competence of TSPDL lies in its state-of-the-art machinery, excellent inventory system and JIT availability at the customer's door. The critical processing requirements such as length tolerance, burr height, width tolerance, shape in roll formed section variance, pickled surface quality, etc are taken into serious consideration. TSPDL is also responsible for complying with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the customer and Tata Steel Processing and Distribution Limited.
Distribution:
In distribution, TSPDL is responsible for the steel purchase, processing, inventory and dispatch. This model adds a huge value to the production chain of the customers as it relieves them from the burden of identification of Steel mills, quality check, processing, inventory management and dispatch. Within Distribution, the business is categorised as OE or Retail, based on whether the customer is serviced directly, or through the Retail / Distribution network. In OE distribution, the customers specify the grade of steel that they require and Tata Steel Processing and Distribution Limited takes responsibility to supply them the same grade of steel in the agreed cut to size condition. In retail distribution, TSPDL maintains stocks of materials for feeding its retail chain and provide value for money products.

Slitting |
Cutting a sheet of steel into narrower strips to match customer needs. Because steel mills have limited flexibility as to the widths of the sheet that they produce, service centres normally will cut the sheet for the customer. |

Pickling & oiling |
Process that cleans steel coil of its rust, dirt and oil so that further work can be done to the metal. Through a continuous process, the steel is uncoiled and sent through a series of hydrochloric acid baths that remove the oxides (rust). The steel sheet is then rinsed and dried. |

Cut-to-length |
Process to uncoil sections of flat-rolled steel and cut them into a desired length. Product that is cut-to-length is normally shipped flat-stacked. |

Roll-forming |
It is a process of shaping steel materials using rolls. The Sheets are processed at length. |

Barrel corrugation |
It is also a process of shaping steel sheets using corrugators. |

Inventory management |
TSPDL has the state-of-the-art inventory system. We ensure the best packaging and stocking of the material. |

Dispatch |
We practise Just-In-Time here at TSPDL. The materials are transported following all the norms and laws set by the Govt. of the state. |

Rebar processing |
TMT Rebars of grades Fe 415 and Fe500 are used for infrastructure construction, buildings, dams etc. At TSPDL we shape the bars as prescribed by the customers through their Bar Bending Schedule (BBS). |

Plate Burning and Fabrication |
We have a full line of primary plate processing capabilities includes Oxy fuel, Plasma and Laser cutting with shearing, press bending, welding of plates for ordinary carbon steel, alloy steel to very high strength and high hardness steel. |

We are Tier 1 supplier is using Roll Forming and Stretch Bending technology to manufacture high precision automotive components for Auto majors. |
